Your privacy is fundamental to our mission of connecting students and collaborators for meaningful study and focus sessions. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use COHORTS.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you register we collect your name, email address and sign-in credentials, including Google or Apple sign-in data if you use them.
Profile information
To match you well you may add your university, your major, the subjects you can help with, the subjects you want help with, and a profile photo.
Activity
We record session attendance, study time, focus points and streaks to power progress tracking and matching.
2. How we use your information
- Matching: your subjects and interests suggest compatible study partners.
- Progress: study time and focus points give you rewards and a record of showing up.
- Communication: chat, invitations and session notifications between matched people.
- Improvement: usage patterns help us make scheduling and discovery better.
3. Sharing and visibility
Your profile and your public sessions are visible to other members. Private sessions are visible only to you and the people you invite.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers we need to run the platform, such as Google Firebase for sign-in and notifications.
4. Your rights and controls
- Delete a session: any session you created can be deleted at any time.
- Delete all sessions: Settings removes every session you created in one step.
- Close your account: Settings deletes your account and removes your profile and its data from our active systems.
5. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to it is controlled and monitored.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
